Why a door comes off its track
Lift cables run from the bottom corners of the door to drums on the spring shaft. When one frays or slips off its drum, that side of the door drops and the rollers climb out of the track. The other common cause is a bumper that clips the door on its way down, which bends a track section just enough for a roller to escape.
Why it is urgent
A crooked door is carrying its weight on one side, and the next press of the button can pull it fully out of the track. Unplug the opener and keep everyone clear until it is secured. This is one of the few calls we treat as an emergency after hours.
What we do
We secure the door, release the tension safely, and replace both lift cables. Then we straighten or replace bent track, swap any cracked rollers, and re-tension and balance the door. Most jobs run $165 to $340, quoted at the door before work starts.
